The NSNDP is committed to protecting jobs and local businesses — and all of us can lend a hand. Help strengthen our economy so we rely less on US markets while doing more to help local businesses and workers. Take the Local First Pledge to:

> Check labels and buy products made in Nova Scotia and Canada
> Get groceries from local food producers, farmers’ markets, and independent grocers where possible
> Eat at locally-owned restaurants and Canadian-owned franchises
> Be a local tourist in Nova Scotia and Canada
> Recommend favourite businesses to a friend, leave positive reviews online, and share their social media posts
> Help with the bottom line by using cash and getting gift cards when possible
